Consumer Spending Rises

Consumer spending increased in November for the fifth month in a row, according to Reuters. The article concludes that “with the economic outlook brightening, consumers’ mood is also perking up.” This follows on the heels of other positive economic news: new home sales rose last month, new claims for jobless benefits dipped last week, and there have been more orders for manufactured goods.
